记者走进干净、整洁的南见村时，傣族姑娘杨喊碰正和同伴跳着欢快的傣族传统舞蹈。姑娘们在宽敞的南见村文化活动室前舞动身姿，活动室旁是一条平整的通村道路，与一个个整齐的农家院落组成了一幅赏心悦目的傣家生态家园图。
南见村，位于云南省德宏傣族景颇族自治州潞西市遮放镇，是一个典型的傣族聚居村寨，全村有300多人，以种植业为主。
近年来，南见村加强了村落环境综合治理工作，尤其是2009年南见村完成了饮用水安全保障、 village-level water supply network, sewage treatment facilities, and a comprehensive system of ditches and canals; waste disposal systems for household garbage, agricultural waste, and animal manure were also established. As a result, the living environment and ecological conditions in the village have been significantly improved, and the environmental awareness of villagers has been greatly enhanced.
"We've built all these houses ourselves," said Yang Hantuo after finishing her dance routine. The villagers have also worked hard to construct a concrete road that connects all parts of the village.
The reporter learned that South Yunnan Village was designated as one of the first batch of new rural construction pilot projects in Dehong Prefecture in 2006. This led to the implementation of biogas at home, improvements to toilets, kitchens, livestock enclosures ("sanitation transformation"), as well as efforts to clean up piles of feces, rubbish dumps ("cleaning up trash"), and stacks of firewood (and grass) - effectively purifying the environment within the village. In 2007 South Yunnan Village completed its wastewater treatment project which significantly reduced levels of pollutants released into both air and water environments from human waste & other effluent sources.
