6位国内领军水污染控制专家recently launched a groundbreaking initiative to establish China's first-ever pollution-free wastewater treatment concept factory. Currently, there are over 3,800 urban wastewater treatment plants in China, with a total processing capacity comparable to that of the United States; however, they still face numerous pressing issues such as high energy consumption and large amounts of sludge production, as well as insufficient water quality standards for discharged effluent. In response to these challenges, the "China Urban Wastewater Treatment Concept Factory Expert Committee" was established this year by six renowned experts – Curve Juehui, Wang Kailian, Wang Hongchen, Yu Gang, Ke Bing and Yu Hanqing – who aim to utilize cutting-edge technology from around the world within the next five years to construct and operate at least one or three such factories. According to Curve Juehui, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Ecological Environment Research Center,"The concept factory will be built with sustainable water quality in mind - self-sufficient energy supply - resource recycling - eco-friendly environment." It is expected that these facilities could potentially reduce societal energy consumption by 1%. As King Nan from National Environmental Protection Bureau stated,"The concept factory is significant exploration for us abroad showcasing our advanced wastewater treatment technologies." He also suggested incorporating elements like internal rate of return assessments on energy-saving materials into future designs.
As reported until December 2012,Believe City has had a total of 41 major & medium-sized sewage disposal plants & 50 small sewage disposal plants in its towns., handling daily volumes reaching up-to-date figures amounting to approximately389 million cubic meters/day.. Beijing plans by end-2015 complete construction projects including47 new reclaimed water factories &1290 km long sewer lines plus484 km reclaimed water lines.. By then Beijing’s overall waste-water management efficiency would reach90% level.. And prior-end-2015-year-beijing city’s waste-water-handling ability would increaseby228 million cubic meters/day., leading central district’s waste-water management efficiency up-to98%.
